China, Empire, Order of the Double Dragon, 3rd Class, 3rd Grade neck badge, possibly a transitional issue, 65 x 40mm., silver-gilt with enamelled obverse and smooth ‘sapphire’ blue stones to both obverse and reverse, with a short length of original blue ribbon embroidered with dragons, in fitted leather case by Arnd, St. Petersbourg, the lid inscribed in gilt, ‘Ordre du Double Dragon III Cl. 3 Grade’.

Japan, Order of the Rising Sun with Pawlonia Flowers, Grand Cordon set of insignia, sash badge, silver-gilt and enamel, with red cabochon centre; breast star, silver-gilt and enamel, with red cabochon centre, reverse inscribed with four Japanese characters, with full and evening sashes, in slightly damaged slip-top lacquer case of issue, complete with cords but lacking internal pad.

The Order was generally awarded to Japanese and foreign royalty, nobility and high dignitaries.

With printed card, ‘Sir Conyngham Greene, Ambassador Extraordinaire et Plenipotentiaire de S.M. Britannique’; additionally inscribed, ‘Presented to me by Japanese Govt. Nov. 1915.’
